What a fantastic day it was – despite the weather doing its best to put us off! Our annual Summer Fete went ahead as planned, and while the rain meant we had to move the festivities indoors, it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. The rest home’s hall was filled with laughter, music, delicious food, and plenty of smiling faces.
We are delighted to share that, thanks to the incredible generosity and support of everyone who came along, we raised an amazing £1,024.00. This year, the proceeds will be donated to the Clymping Dog Sanctuary, a local charity close to many of our hearts. Their tireless work in providing care and shelter for abandoned and mistreated dogs is truly inspiring, and we are proud to be able to contribute to their efforts.
Community Spirit at Its Best
One of the most heart-warming aspects of the day was seeing our community come together. From families enjoying the cake stall to friends trying their luck with the raffle, there was a real sense of togetherness. Events like this remind us just how special our local area is.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported the fete, whether by attending, donating, or spreading the word. Every ticket bought, every slice of cake enjoyed, and every small act of kindness helped us reach our fundraising goal.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the help of our fantastic volunteers. We are so grateful to the individuals who donated prizes, baked cakes, managed stalls, sold raffle tickets, and helped with the setup and tidy-up afterwards. Your time and energy are what made this year’s fete such a success.
Special thanks also go to our staff team, who worked tirelessly in the background to make sure everything ran smoothly. Whether it was moving tables indoors when the rain arrived or ensuring everyone had a warm welcome at the door, their dedication shone through.
