There was a wonderful buzz of chatter, laughter, and the smell of freshly baked cakes at our care home in Bognor last Friday, as residents, families, staff, and visitors came together for a fantastic cause – the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning.
We are thrilled to share that, thanks to the kindness and generosity of everyone who joined us, we raised an incredible £200 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Whether you baked a cake, made a donation, or simply popped in for a cuppa and a chat, your contribution truly made a difference.
Coming Together for a Wonderful Cause
The Macmillan Coffee Morning is a beloved tradition at our home – a chance to bring the community together while raising vital funds for those affected by cancer. Residents spent the week leading up to the event preparing sweet treats and decorations, and the kitchen team outdid themselves with a table full of delicious bakes.
From Victoria sponges and lemon drizzle cakes to scones, biscuits, and brownies, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere was lively and full of warmth as friends, family members, and staff gathered for tea, coffee, and conversation – all while supporting a cause that touches so many lives.
A Community Effort
Events like these remind us just how special our community truly is. We were delighted to welcome relatives, neighbours, and friends from the wider area who came along to show their support. Their generosity helped us reach our fundraising total, and every penny will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping provide care and comfort to those in need.
At our residential care home in Bognor Regis, we’re proud to see our residents taking such active roles in community events. Many shared stories of their own fundraising experiences over the years, and the sense of pride and accomplishment was clear for all to see.
